Korea’s travel experience changes dramatically with the weather. Winter brings ski slopes within reach of Seoul, while summer opens beaches, rivers, outdoor pools and surf lessons. Use this guide to choose an activity that matches your season and confidence level.

Choose your experience
  • December–February: skiing or snowboarding in Gangwon-do or Gyeonggi-do.
  • June–August: Hangang pools and beginner water sports in Seoul.
  • Late spring–autumn: surfing at Yangyang, Busan or an artificial wave park.
  • Summer: guided rafting in Gangwon-do when conditions allow.
