VEMORIQ practical hospital guide · Official sources checked October 3, 2026. This is an appointment and travel-planning guide, not a clinical assessment or a hospital ranking.
Asan Medical Center: arrange the clinical visit before the journey
Asan Medical Center is in Songpa-gu, southeastern Seoul. For an international visitor, the useful starting point is its International Healthcare Center (IHC): explain the purpose of your visit and request the appropriate appointment route. Do not select a specialist solely because a department name sounds close to a symptom. A first consultation, a second opinion and a screening package require different preparation.
Find the correct building, not just the hospital map pin
Map search: 서울아산병원, 서울 송파구 올림픽로43길 88 · Address: 88 Olympic-ro 43-gil, Songpa-gu, Seoul. The official IHC directions place the center on the fourth floor of the New Building. Your confirmation may instead name a specialty clinic; follow the arrival instructions for your own appointment.
Save both the Korean address and the building or clinic name offline. A taxi destination gets you to the campus, while a registration desk may still require an indoor walk. If walking is difficult or you are accompanying an older relative, ask where to be dropped off and how to request mobility assistance before travelling. Leave flexible time for registration rather than fitting the visit between timed sightseeing bookings.
Prepare one clear appointment request
The hospital lists telephone, email and website booking channels, and its English service page gives regular IHC hours as weekdays 08:30–17:30. These are service hours, not a guarantee of an available clinician. Wait for an actual confirmation before making a non-refundable trip.
- State whether this is a new concern, follow-up, second opinion or screening request.
- Use the patient’s passport name consistently. Give an email and telephone number that will work during the Korea stay.
- Prepare a short timeline, relevant diagnoses, current medication names and available reports. Keep scans identifiable by date and body area.
- Ask which records need translation and how to send large image files through the hospital’s approved channel.
- Request the appointment date, department, registration location and interpretation arrangements in writing.
AMC’s appointment form asks about interpretation and advises bringing medical reports, test results and imaging CDs. Keep your own accessible copies; do not assume a file uploaded beforehand is immediately available at every clinic desk. Send personal medical documents to the hospital, not to VEMORIQ.
Separate treatment, screening and insurance questions
AMC distinguishes the IHC from its Health Screening and Promotion Center for packaged check-ups. Specify which service you want when contacting the hospital. Its FAQ also distinguishes contracted insurers from other insurance arrangements: direct billing needs advance coordination, and an overseas insurance card alone does not settle the payment question.
Ask your insurer whether pre-authorization is needed, then ask the hospital what you must pay at the visit. Request an estimate that separates consultation, tests and other proposed services. An estimate is a planning document, not a final bill or a recommendation to undergo a procedure. Keep receipts and ask which English documents are available for a claim.
Before leaving the clinic
Write down how results will arrive, whether another visit is expected and whom to contact with an administrative question. If ongoing care will return to your home country, request the relevant report and images before departure. Ask the treating team about individual travel restrictions; discharge and readiness for a long flight are different decisions. Any time shown in the VEMORIQ itinerary picker is a planning placeholder, not the duration of a hospital visit.
