A dessert break beside Pyeongdae’s village coast
Caféri Gujwa is at 1F, 39 Pyeongdae 2-gil, Gujwa-eup, Jeju City. Jeju Tourism Organization identifies this Pyeongdae café with carrot cake, Hallasan-inspired cake and tangerine pudding. It is a useful east-coast pause for visitors who prefer a smaller village setting to a large, multi-floor seaside café.
Pick a dessert for flavor as well as appearance
A cake shaped or decorated to suggest Hallasan is a dessert presentation, not a guarantee of a particular filling. Ask what is inside the current version before ordering. For carrot cake, check the frosting and whether nuts are included if those ingredients matter to you. A fruit-themed pudding may contain dairy or other ingredients that are not obvious from its name.
One dessert to share can be a sensible starting point after a meal. Pair it with an unsweetened drink if you prefer a less sweet combination, or ask about the sweetness of a signature beverage. Availability can change during the day, so avoid promising a particular cake to your group until staff confirm it is still available.
Allow time for the village, not just the photograph
Budget roughly 45–60 minutes for the café as an editorial planning estimate, then add separate time for a coastal walk. Save the address rather than relying only on an English spelling. Pyeongdae is in northeastern Jeju; this is not a convenient add-on to every Seogwipo or western-island itinerary.
Approach the café through the signed entrance and respect neighboring homes. A village lane is also a working residential space: do not block gates, stop in the road for photographs or assume a spare roadside space is legal parking. If arriving by bus, check the actual stop and remaining walk before leaving your previous destination.
Cats, pets and seating
The café is described by tourism and pet-travel listings as sharing its space with resident cats. Let animals approach on their own, avoid feeding them, and supervise children. If someone in your group is uncomfortable around cats, ask about the seating arrangement before committing to a visit.
A pet-travel directory lists conditions for bringing dogs, including a lead or carrier and possible restrictions when the interior is crowded. Confirm the café’s current rule directly; a directory badge is not permission to release a pet among resident animals. Check suitable seating for your group before ordering.
Do not rely on conflicting closing times
Published listings disagree about opening and last-order times. This guide therefore does not present one as a verified current schedule. Contact the café for your date, especially for a late-afternoon trip or if you want a specific dessert. A café closing time and the final time for ordering are different.
For a larger coastal coffee stop elsewhere on the northeast route, compare Delmoondo Gimnyeong. Choose one that fits your route and preferred atmosphere rather than spending the afternoon moving between cafés.
