Kim’s Eye Hospital: book an ophthalmology visit in Yeongdeungpo

Kim’s Eye Hospital is an eye hospital at 136 Yeongsin-ro, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. Search 김안과병원 서울 영등포구 영신로 136 and match that address to your confirmation. It is a medical destination, not a retail optical store. If you simply want new spectacle frames and lenses, our prescription-glasses planning guide explains the separate shopping route.

Do not plan around an unconfirmed walk-in

The official reservation page states that all ophthalmology departments operate by appointment. It lists 1577-2639 for domestic telephone booking, as well as online and reception-desk booking routes. It also says same-day, next-day and public-holiday reservations are unavailable and that a request must pass a confirmation step. Contact the hospital to clarify your circumstances rather than interpreting an available web form as a confirmed slot.

The page lists weekday reservation-center hours of 08:30–17:00, with only basic consultation on weekends and holidays. Published clinical hours are weekdays 08:30–17:00 and Saturday mornings 08:30–12:30; the Sunday/holiday morning listing is marked emergency care. Those categories should not be treated as equivalent appointment availability. Holiday notices and individual physician schedules may further affect access.

What an overseas visitor should confirm first

The reservation instructions reviewed are in Korean. Before making travel arrangements, ask whether the hospital can support your preferred language, whether assistance must be reserved and how to contact the team from an overseas phone. A domestic service number may not behave like an ordinary international number; use the hospital’s own contact options if it will not connect. We have not verified a guaranteed English-speaking clinician or same-day interpretation for every appointment.

  • State whether you are booking a new assessment, a known eye condition or follow-up after previous care.
  • Ask which clinic and clinician should receive your request rather than selecting a procedure from an advertisement.
  • Prepare existing eye reports, current spectacles, prescription details and the names of any eye drops or medicines.
  • Ask whether contact lenses need to be removed before the particular examination and follow the clinic’s instructions.
  • Confirm the expected sequence, possible return visits, estimated charges and documentation available in your language.

Build a flexible return journey

Ask the clinic whether the planned examination could affect your ability to drive, read a small phone screen or navigate alone afterward. Arrange a companion or simple return route if advised. Keep your hotel address available in Korean and avoid placing a timed attraction immediately after the appointment. A slot in a travel planner cannot predict registration, testing or clinical review time.

If a procedure is proposed, request an explanation of alternatives, individual risks, follow-up requirements and the contact route after returning home before deciding. A short holiday is not a reason to compress the clinician’s recommended assessment or recovery schedule. Take written instructions away with you and clarify anything you cannot understand before leaving.
