Severance Eye Hospital · 세브란스 안과병원

VEMORIQ eye-care visit guide · Official sources checked October 3, 2026. Appointment preparation and campus navigation, not a clinical recommendation.

Severance Eye Hospital: use the Sinchon campus destination

Severance Eye Hospital’s official location page gives 50-1 Yonsei-ro, Seodaemun-gu, Seoul. Save 세브란스 안과병원 서울 서대문구 연세로 50-1 for your journey. This is the Sinchon hospital campus. Do not substitute Gangnam Severance or Yongin Severance when searching: the network’s hospitals have different locations and appointment arrangements.

The practical challenge is finding the right clinic within a large medical campus. Before arrival, ask whether you should register at the International Health Care Center or go directly to an eye-clinic reception point. Keep the building, floor and appointment number together with the Korean destination name. The general hospital map pin is not a complete set of arrival instructions.

Ask for an eye appointment with the right purpose

Explain whether you need an initial assessment, follow-up for an existing eye condition or review of records from another clinician. The hospital’s English site connects the Eye Hospital with its international-patient appointment services. For insured specialist care, Severance’s appointment guidance describes a referral requirement for Korean National Health Insurance and advance payment-guarantee coordination for contracted overseas insurers. Ask how those rules apply to your own registration route.

Do not equate a spectacle prescription with a full eye assessment, or assume that selecting an eye hospital commits you to a procedure. Bring the question you want answered. If your aim is only to replace spectacles, our glasses guide covers that separate practical task.

Prepare a small, organized record packet

  • Passport or accepted identification, appointment confirmation and any requested referral.
  • A dated summary of the eye problem and which eye is affected, using your clinician’s diagnosis if one exists.
  • Prior examination reports, imaging and operation records relevant to the visit.
  • Current spectacles, contact-lens details and medication or eye-drop names.
  • Your preferred language, planned departure date and the contact details for your usual clinician.

Ask how the hospital wants to receive files and whether translations are needed. Retain originals and a readable copy. A patient can have years of records, but a concise index makes it easier to locate a particular test. VEMORIQ does not accept these documents or assess their medical meaning.

Allow for the journey after the examination

Ask ahead whether the planned tests may make driving or navigating alone unsuitable afterward. Follow the clinic’s advice and arrange a companion if needed. Save the hotel address in Korean before the visit, and avoid relying on a tiny phone screen to find your way immediately after an examination. Keep the rest of that day’s itinerary flexible rather than promising yourself a quick stop between attractions.

The official location page lists public-transport approaches, but choose a live route for your date and mobility needs. A station walk, a campus entrance and the final clinic are separate parts of the journey. Confirm the accessible entrance or drop-off point if stairs or long walks are difficult.

Leave with a follow-up plan

Before departure, check how results will be explained, when another visit is needed and how to obtain reports for care at home. If treatment is proposed, ask about the expected follow-up schedule and any restrictions before booking travel. The duration in an itinerary picker is not a clinical appointment estimate.
